Esdras’ Vision of the United States of America

Interpreted

I firmly believe that the books of Esdras’ (also known as Ezra), that are found in the Apocrypha, do not belong in the Bible. I receive these writings as I would any writing that is found in various christian books today: that is, I take them prayerfully before the Lord and receive them only if God reveals to me that they are from Him.

The Lord has assured me that these accounts are a reasonably accurate account of the deeds of Esdras, and the dreams and visions that he received from God.

Under the direction of the Lord, I have received a full and complete interpretation of the dream of Esdras’ eagle which he seen about 400 B.C. This is taken from the book of II Esdras, the eleventh and twelfth chapters. It is this revelation that God has instructed me to place here for all to see and understand.

Vision of Esdras’ Eagle

11:1 Then I saw a dream, and observed, there came up from the sea an eagle, which had twelve feathered wings, and three heads.

11:2 And I saw, and observed, she spread her wings over all the earth, and all the winds of the air blew on her, and were gathered together.

11:3 And I watched, and out of her feathers there grew other opposite feathers; and they became little feathers and small.

11:4 But her heads were at rest: the head in the middle was greater than the other, yet rested it with the others.

11:5 After this I watched, and the eagle flew with her feathers, and reigned upon earth, and over them that dwelt therein.

11:6 And I saw that all things under heaven were subject unto her, and no man could speak against her, not one creature upon earth.

11:7 And I watched, and the eagle rose upon her talons, and was speaking to her feathers, saying,

11:8 Watch not all at once: sleep every one in his own place, and watch by sequence:

11:9 But let the heads be preserved for the last.

11:10 And I watched, and the voice came not out of her heads, but from the middle of her body.

11:11 And I numbered her opposite feathers, and, observed, there were eight of them.

11:12 And I looked, and observed on the right side there arose one feather, and reigned over all the earth;

11:13 And so it was, that when it reigned, the end of it came, and the place of it appeared no more: so the next one stood up, and reigned, and had a great time;

11:14 And it happened, that when it reigned, the end of it came also, like the first, so that it appeared no more,

11:15 Then came there a voice unto it, and said,

11:16 Hear you that have born rule over the earth so long: this I say unto you, before you begin to appear no more,

11:17 There will be none after you that will achieve your time, neither unto the half of it.

11:18 Then arose the third, and reigned as the other before, and appeared no more also.

11:19 So went it with all the remainder one after the other, that every one reigned, and then appeared no more.

11:20 Then I watched, and in the process of time the feathers that followed stood up upon the right side, that they might rule also; and some of them ruled, but within a while they appeared no more:

11:21 For some of them were set up, but ruled not.

11:22 After this I looked, and observed, that the twelve feathers appeared no more, nor the two little feathers:

11:23 And there was no more upon the eagle’s body, but the three heads that rested, and the six little wings.

11:24 Then I saw that the two little feathers divided themselves from the six, and remained under the head that was upon the right side: and the four continued in their place.

11:25 And I watched, and the feathers that were under the wing thought to set up themselves, and to rule.

11:26 And I watched, and there was one set up, but shortly it appeared no more.

11:27 And the second lasted less time than the first.

11:28 And I watched, and the two that remained thought also in themselves to reign:

11:29 And when they had thought this, I observed that there awaked one of the heads that was at rest, that is, the one in the middle; for it was greater than the two other heads.

11:30 And then I saw that the two other heads were joined with it.

11:31 And, I observed the head was turned with them that were with it, and did eat up the two feathers under the wing that would have reigned.

11:32 But this head put the whole earth in fear, and ruled over all those that were dwelling upon the earth with much oppression; and it had the government of the world more than all the wings that had been.

11:33 And after this, I observed the head that was in the middle suddenly appeared no more, like the wings.

11:34 But there remained the two heads, which also in like manner ruled upon the earth and over those that dwelt therein.

11:35 And I watched, and the head upon the right side devoured the one that was upon the left side.

11:36 Then I heard a voice, which said unto me, Look before you, and consider what you have seen.

11:37 And I watched, as it were, a roaring lion chased out of the wood: and I saw that he sent out a man’s voice unto the eagle, and said,

11:38 Hear you, I will talk with you, and the Highest shall say unto you,

11:39 Are you not the one that has remained of the four beasts, of whom I made to reign in my world, that the end of their times might come through them?

11:40 And the fourth came, and overcame all the beasts that were past and had power over the world with great fearfulness, and over the whole circumference of the earth with much wicked oppression; and he dwelt a long time upon the earth with deception.

11:41 For the earth have you not judged with truth.

11:42 For you have afflicted the meek, you have hurt the peaceable, you have loved liars, and destroyed the dwellings of them that brought forth fruit, and have cast down the walls of those that did you no harm.

11:43 Therefore your evil deeds have come up to the Highest, and your pride unto the Mighty.

11:44 The Highest has also looked upon the proud times, and observed that they are ended, and his abominations are fulfilled.

11:45 And therefore appear no more, you eagle, nor your horrible wings, nor your wicked feathers, nor your malicious heads, nor your hurtful claws, nor all of your vain body:

11:46 That all the earth may be refreshed, and may return, being delivered from your violence, and that she may hope for the judgment and mercy of him that made her.

12:1 And it came to pass, while the lion was speaking these words unto the eagle, I saw,

12:2 And observed, the head that remained and the four wings appeared no more, and the two went unto it, and set themselves up to reign, and their kingdom was small, and full of uproar.

12:3 And I saw, and observed, they appeared no more, and the whole body of the eagle was burnt, so that the earth was in great fear: then awaked I out of the trouble and the trance of my mind, and from great fear, and said to my spirit,

12:4 This have you done unto me, in that you have searched out the ways of the Highest.

12:5 And yet am I weary in my mind, and very weak in my spirit; and little strength is in me, for the great fear that I was afflicted with this night.

12:6 Therefore will I now beseech the Highest, that he will comfort me unto the end.

12:7 And I said, Lord that rules, if I have found grace before you, and if I am justified with you before many others, and if my prayer indeed be come up before your face;

12:8 Comfort me then, and show me, your servant, the interpretation and plain difference of this fearful vision, that you may perfectly comfort my soul.

12:9 For you have judged me worthy to show me the last times.

12:10 And he said unto me, This is the interpretation of the vision:

12:11 The eagle, whom you have seen come up from the sea, is the kingdom which was seen in the vision of your brother Daniel.

12:12 But it was not expounded unto him, therefore now I declare it unto you.

12:13 For the days will come, that there shall rise up a kingdom upon earth, and it shall be feared above all the kingdoms that were before it.

12:14 In the same shall twelve kings reign, one after the other:

12:15 The second shall begin to reign, and shall have more time than any of the twelve.

12:16 And this do the twelve wings signify, which you have seen.

12:17 As for the voice which you heard, and that you noticed went not out from the heads, but from the middle of the body, this is the interpretation:

12:18 That after the time of that kingdom there shall arise great strivings, and it shall stand in peril of falling: nevertheless it shall not fall then, but shall be restored again to his beginning.

12:19 And when you saw the eight small under feathers sticking to her wings, this is the interpretation:

12:20 That in him there shall arise eight kings, whose times shall be but small, and their years swift.

12:21 And two of them shall perish, the middle time approaching: four shall be kept until their end begin to approach: but two shall be kept unto the end.

12:22 And as you saw three heads resting, this is the interpretation:

12:23 In his last days shall the most High raise up three kingdoms, and renew many things in it, and they shall have the dominion of the earth,

12:24 And of those that dwell in it, with much oppression above all those that were before them: therefore are they called the heads of the eagle.

12:25 For these are they that shall accomplish his wickedness, and that shall finish his last end.

12:26 And as you saw that the great head appeared no more, it signifies that one of them shall die upon his bed, and yet with pain.

12:27 For the two that remain shall be slain with the sword.

12:28 For the sword of the one shall devour the other: but at the last he shall fall through the sword himself.

12:29 And as you saw two feathers under the wings passing over the head that is on the right side;

12:30 It signifies that these are they, whom the Highest has kept unto their end: this is the small kingdom and full of trouble, as you have seen.

12:31 And the lion, whom you saw rising up out of the wood, and roaring, rebuking her of her unrighteousness with all the words which you have heard;

12:32 This is the anointed, which the Highest has kept for them and for their wickedness unto the end: he shall reprove them, and shall upbraid them with their cruelty.

12:33 For he shall set them before him alive in judgment, and shall rebuke them, and correct them.

12:34 For the rest of my people shall he deliver with mercy, those that have been preserved upon my borders, and he shall make them joyful until the coming of the day of judgment, as I have spoken unto you from the beginning.

12:35 This is the dream which you have seen, and these are the interpretations.

12:36 You only have been given to know this secret of the Highest.

12:37 Therefore write all these things that you have seen in a book, and hide them:

12:38 And teach them to the wise of the people, whose hearts you know may comprehend and keep these secrets.

Some Points Concerning the Interpretation

As you can see from the interpretation given to Esdras, the vision of Daniel, in Daniel chapter 7, is of extreme importance. This understanding is necessary in order to fully understand the interpretation given to Esdras.

The Lord emphasised to me that the order, both in Daniel and in Esdras, is important. The order that the beasts appear in Daniel is the order in which they will reign over the world. The order in Esdras in which the body of the eagle (the first kingdom), and the three heads (the next three kingdoms) rule, are the same kingdoms as in Daniel, and in the same order.

From Esdras’ vision: the body of the eagle is the first kingdom (USA), the first head is the second kingdom (Russia), the second head is the third kingdom (China), and the third head is the fourth kingdom (anti-christ). From Daniel’s vision: the eagle is the USA, the bear is Russia, the Leopard is China, and the dreadful and terrible beast is the anti-christ’s kingdom.

We begin to understand from this that the eagle’s body (USA) has brought forth the other kingdoms. We see this today in the way in which America has furthered the kingdoms of Russia and China by providing economic aid and technology to these countries.

Also, the eagle’s body does exist throughout the rule of the other kingdoms, but with a greatly reduced amount of power, and with great turmoil.

On the next page is a chart that I have drawn up based on the revelation that God gave me concerning the beasts of Daniel 7, and the horses of Zechariah 6 and Revelation 6. There is an article on my web site concerning this vision (from which the chart is taken). The web address is at end of this article.

The Interpretation that God has shown me

Below is each part of the vision of Esdras with the interpretation that God showed Esdras underneath. After this is the additional interpretation God has shown me.

____________________________________________________________________

Vision Given to Esdras: Part 1

11:1 Then I saw a dream, and observed, there came up from the sea an eagle,

which had twelve feathered wings, and three heads.

11:2 And I saw, and observed, she spread her wings over all the earth, and all the

winds of the air blew on her, and were gathered together.

Interpretation Given to Esdras

12:10 And he said unto me, This is the interpretation of the vision:

12:11 The eagle, whom you have seen come up from the sea, is the kingdom which was seen in the vision of your brother Daniel.

12:12 But it was not expounded unto him, therefore now I declare it unto you.

12:13 For the days will come, that there shall rise up a kingdom upon earth, and it shall be feared above all the kingdoms that were before it.

Additional Interpretation Given to Thomas S. Gibson

The eagle is the United States of America. It presently controls the earth through her economy and strong political power, especially through the United Nations.

Vision Given to Esdras: Part 2

Interpretation Given to Esdras

12:14 In the same shall twelve kings reign, one after the other:

12:15 The second shall begin to reign, and shall have more time than any of the twelve.

12:16 And this do the twelve wings signify, which you have seen.

Additional Interpretation Given to Thomas S. Gibson

Verse 14 states “In the same shall twelve kings reign.” The key point to finding the 12 kings, (leaders, or presidents in this case), is that the second king reigned longer than any of the others. There is only one president of which this can be said: Franklin D. Roosevelt (he was elected four times). If he is the second king referred to in the interpretation above, and I believe he is, then this places the 12 kings beginning with Herbert C. Hoover; and continuing to the twelfth, Bill Clinton. The 12 presidents are as follows (number of presidential rule, president, years in power, total years in power):

31. Herbert C. Hoover 1929-1933 4 years

32. Franklin D. Roosevelt 1933-1945 12 years

33. Harry S. Truman 1945-1953 8 years

34. Dwight D. Eisenhower 1953-1961 8 years

35. John F. Kennedy 1961-1963 2 years

36. Lyndon B. Johnson 1963-1969 6 years

37. Richard M. Nixon 1969-1974 5 years

38. Gerald R. Ford 1974-1977 3 years

39. Jimmy Carter 1977-1981 4 years

40. Ronald Reagan 1981-1989 8 years

41. George H. W. Bush 1989-1993 4 years

42. Bill Clinton 1993-2001 8 years

Vision Given to Esdras: Part 3

11:7 And I watched, and the eagle rose upon her talons, and was speaking to her feathers, saying,

11:8 Watch not all at once: sleep every one in his own place, and watch by sequence:

11:9 But let the heads be preserved for the last.

11:10 And I watched, and the voice came not out of her heads, but from the middle of her body.

Interpretation Given to Esdras

12:17 As for the voice which you heard, and that you noticed went not out from the heads, but from the middle of the body, this is the interpretation:

12:18 That after the time of that kingdom there shall arise great strivings, and it shall stand in peril of falling: nevertheless it shall not fall then, but shall be restored again to his beginning.

Additional Interpretation Given to Thomas S. Gibson

Each ruler (president) rules one after the other. The heads (other nations) do not rule at this time. The beginning of the striving to rule shall come after the 12 kings.

____________________________________________________________________

Vision Given to Esdras: Part 4

11:3 And I watched, and out of her feathers there grew other opposite feathers; and they became little feathers and small.

11:11 And I numbered her opposite feathers, and, observed, there were eight of them.

11:12 And I looked, and observed on the right side there arose one feather, and reigned over all the earth;

11:13 And so it was, that when it reigned, the end of it came, and the place of it appeared no more: so the next one stood up, and reigned, and had a great time;

Interpretation Given to Esdras

12:19 And when you saw the eight small under feathers sticking to her wings, this is the interpretation:

12:20 That in him there shall arise eight kings, whose times shall be but small, and their years swift.

12:21 And two of them shall perish, the middle time approaching: four shall be kept until their end begin to approach: but two shall be kept unto the end.

Additional Interpretation Given to Thomas S. Gibson

Eight presidents shall reign in only a short time. This will be very turbulent times for the U.S. This is the beginning of very serious judgments on America!

The beginning of these Presidents are listed below:

43. George Bush, Jr. 2001-2009 8 years

44. Barack Obama 2009-2017 8 years

Beginning with President Bush the United States suffered a series of troubles. The first major one was a terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. Never before has a terrorist organization been able to destroy two skyscrapers on American soil. This resulted in a crash of the stock market. After some years the market regained all of the loss. Then the hurricane that struck New Orleans. Many years later major parts of that city are still not rebuilt. The latest has been the crash of the stock market again, this time brought about by a banking crisis. As of the date of the addition of this paragraph the market has not regained all of its loss. (October 17,2009)

According to the interpretation given to Esdras only two Presidents will remain until the end of their time. George Bush did remain in power until the end of his 8 years in power. That leaves only one President to make it to the end of his/her term: presumably 4 or 8 years.

Vision Given to Esdras: Part 5

11:20 Then I watched, and in the process of time the feathers that followed stood up upon the right side, that they might rule also; and some of them ruled, but within a while they appeared no more:

11:21 For some of them were set up, but ruled not.

11:22 After this I looked, and observed, that the twelve feathers appeared no more, nor the two little feathers:

11:23 And there was no more upon the eagle’s body, but the three heads that rested, and the six little wings.

11:24 Then I saw that the two little feathers divided themselves from the six, and remained

under the head that was upon the right side: and the four continued in their place.

Interpretation Given to Esdras

12:29 And as you saw two feathers under the wings passing over the head that is on the right side;

12:30 It signifies that these are they, whom the Highest has kept unto their end: this is the small kingdom and full of trouble, as you have seen.

Additional Interpretation Given to Thomas S. Gibson

Verses 20 - 23 reveals a very troubled time when rulers who attempt to rule cannot do so. Some of them were ready to rule (presumably elected), but could not do so.

In verse 24 we see two rulers that were aligning themselves with the right head. From verses 34 - 35 on the next page we see that the right head devours the left head, and therefore rules last. This reveals that the right head must be the anti-christ. The antichrist’s kingdom must, at this time, exist in some way, but still not in full power.

After this we see that the four rulers who were left also tried to rule. One lasted a short time, the second less than the first. The next two were destroyed by the middle head, which is Russia.

____________________________________________________________________

Vision Given to Esdras: Part 6

11:4 But her heads were at rest: the head in the middle was greater than the other, yet rested it with the others.

Interpretation Given to Esdras

Additional Interpretation Given to Thomas S. Gibson

The eagle’s body is America. Each head that rules after it is another kingdom to rule upon the earth and control the earth. After America’s rule over the earth there shall be three more kingdoms: Russia, China, and the Antichrist’s kingdom.

Vision Given to Esdras: Part 7

12:1 And it came to pass, while the lion was speaking these words unto the eagle, I saw,

12:2 And observed, the head that remained and the four wings appeared no more, and the two went unto it, and set themselves up to reign, and their kingdom was small, and full of uproar.

12:3 And I saw, and observed, they appeared no more, and the whole body of the eagle was burnt, so that the earth was in great fear:

Interpretation Given to Esdras

12:31 And the lion, whom you saw rising up out of the wood, and roaring, rebuking her of her unrighteousness with all the words which you have heard;

12:32 This is the anointed, which the Highest has kept for them and for their wickedness unto the end: he shall reprove them, and shall upbraid them with their cruelty.

Here we see the Lion (Jesus) judging and rebuking the eagle and its heads, which is the nation of the United States, and the three kingdoms that shall arise after it.

After the anti-christ’s kingdom breaks down we see another attempt to rule in the eagle’s body (America). It is ruled by two leaders (At the same time? Divided nation?).

We also see the burnt body of the eagle. This is the final judgments in the book of Revelation on this earth. These judgments are ongoing, but by this time they take a complete toll of what is left of this world. They shall completely burn and destroy what is left of the earth at the end. At this point Jesus will return, the saints are gathered together to Him, and the one thousand year reign of Christ will begin.

This vision looks mainly at the United States of America of how it will survive during the coming judgments and future kingdoms. America will survive in some type of very weakened state during the anti-christ reign, and after the breakup of his kingdom.

It is also evident that there is coming a time of trouble for America, which has now begun. This time began after Bill Clinton with the election of George Bush and Barack Obama, and the troubles which occurred during their reigns (9/11; New Orleans; Banking Crises; Stock Market Crashes). Much more will occur during the reigns of Obama and the Presidents to follow. This has revealed a major turning point for the nation of America.
