Prophetic Comparison of the Beasts of Daniel 7, the Horses of Zechariah 6, and the Horses of Revelation 6 - Updated

Many years ago I asked the Lord about any connection between the horses of Zechariah and the horses of Revelation. To my surprise He said there was a three way connection between the beasts of Daniel, and the horses of both those books.

He also stated that the relationship is not by the description or colour of the horses, but by the place (first, second, etc.) that they hold in each of the passages. That is, the first beast in Daniel is to be compared to the first horse in Zechariah and the first horse in Revelation; the second beast in Daniel is to be compared to the second horse in Zechariah and the second horse in Revelation, and so on.

The Lord also showed me how the beasts in Daniel are to be translated. This is taken from the book of Daniel:

Dan 7:2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.

Dan 7:3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

Dan 7:4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.

Dan 7:5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

Dan 7:6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

Dan 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

Dan 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

The Lion is Great Britain

The lion is a traditional symbol of Great Britain going back hundreds of years.

The Eagle is the United States of America

In 1782 The U.S. chose the bald eagle as its national symbol.

The bear is Russia

The bear as been a symbol for Russia going back to the 17th century.

The Leopard is China

With a little research using Abingdon’s Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, I determined that the leopard could be translated either as a leopard, or tiger. According to Strong’s the Chaldean word means “to spot or stain as if by dripping; a leopard (from its stripes).” A tiger also has stripes.

Also, some years after this article was originally written I was in contact with a Hebrew translator who confirmed to me that the original word translated leopard, could also be accurately translated tiger. Unfortunately I have since lost his email and contact information.

The tiger is a historical and cultural Chinese symbol going back thousands of years. As the Lord indicated to me, the leopard (tiger) represents China.

The Fourth Beast: Dreadful and Terrible

Any student in the prophecies of Revelation will immediately recognize the description of this as the Beast (or anti-christ).

From Zechariah:

Zec 6:1 And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.

Zec 6:2 In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;

Zec 6:3 And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.

Zec 6:4 Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?

Zec 6:5 And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

Zec 6:6 The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country.

Zec 6:7 And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.

Zec 6:8 Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.

From Revelation:

Rev 6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

Rev 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

Rev 6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

Rev 6:4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Rev 6:5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

Rev 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

Rev 6:7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

Rev 6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

After receiving this revelation from the Lord, I did a little study and realized that there is an excellent correlation between these Scriptures and this interpretation.

This revelation and chart was first given to me during the 1990’s; and then added to my web site in 2001. Since then I have updated this article to include quotes from each of the books of the Bible referred to.

Concerning the Horses of Revelation:

Since this was first given to me by the Lord, He has shown me that there are 7 equally accurate interpretations for the four horses in Revelation. The above interpretation is only one true understanding among the seven. So there are six more interpretation which are also accurate!

However, I am not inclined to agree with the many writings that I see on this subject; so many different concepts that it is hard to count them all. It would seem to me that prophecy teachers are putting forth their own ideas, rather than waiting and praying on the Lord for a revelation of truth. Many errors can result from these actions. I warn those reading this article not to accept any teacher of prophecy without a confirmation from the Lord Jesus.
